Background
Ipas Africa Alliance (AA) is a member of the Ipas Impact Network (Ipas), whose mission is to advance reproductive justice (RJ) globally. For more than two decades, AA has worked with partners to secure improvements in equitable contraception and abortion care in East Africa, making signature contributions to the field in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. In addition to our country-based programming, AA pursues policy and advocacy initiatives that extend across the African continent, promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) on a broader scale. AA’s mission is to create an ecosystem where diverse government, civil society, and community actors are committed to available, high-quality, stigma-free sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care, including adolescent SRH, abortion care, and contraception.
For the last financial year, Ipas AA also aimed to capture and synthesize the strengths, experiences, learnings and wisdom of diverse actors, organizations, and groups at multiple levels of the ecosystem so that we can continually improve our programs. From this background, learning lessons were captured during stakeholders engagements and summary of annual projects achievements.
