Job Summary:
The Business Development & External Engagement Advisor will contribute to Ipas Nigeria’s success by providing highly complex fundraising support to the Country Director. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Country Director, the Business Development & External Engagement Advisor ensures the effective and efficient functioning of the fundraising initiative led by the Country Director, significantly contributing to the development of new program partnerships and funding opportunities. S/He must maintain complete confidentiality in all aspects of assignments, maintenance of protocol procedures, management of information flow and follow-up on deadlines and commitments made. S/he expected to develop and implement fundraising strategies including new partnership and funder liaison. Establishing and managing relationships, both internally and externally, is a key element of this job. Furthermore, S/He will support effort to advance strategic business priorities and position Ipas as a preferred Organization within the SRHR space in Nigeria.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Country Director, and other members of the team to support the development of concept notes for projects responding to immediate or anticipated funding opportunities that fit Ipas Nigeria’s strategic priorities and respond to donor priorities.

- Manage Ipas Nigeria’s Business Development activities to align with the organization’s Policy, Procedures, Practices, and strategic plan.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 8-10 years of progressively responsible program implementation, Proposal development, and program experience is required at the national or international level.
- Demonstrated experience gained in international development, preferably to include managing, implementing and/or supporting international development programmes.
- Successful track record of securing multiple project grants from bilateral and multilateral donors, trusts and foundations and other new donors
- Significant expertise in all areas of new business development including strategy, forging partnerships, negotiating teaming agreements, project design, theory of change construction, proposal writing, budget development, managing donor, partner relationships and project reporting.
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-cultural and low-resource settings is required
- Experience working with high-level champions or their teams and maintaining good relationships with diverse networks of people
