Grant Opportunity

Ipas Africa Alliance through the community engagement program aims to create supportive environments across East Africa where every woman and girl, particularly those marginalized, can access high-quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, including abortion care, without facing judgment. The purpose of the grant is to collaborate with local actors from different community levels to garner public support to promote SRHR by engaging stakeholders such as community leaders, civil society organizations, professional groups, youth, and other influencers. This will be realized through advocacy and awareness campaigns, dispelling misinformation regarding SRH, promoting culturally relevant and positive narratives that challenge detrimental social norms, and endorsing SRH rights. Innovative community engagement models will also be developed to address practical obstacles to SRH service accessibility.
The program has four primary objectives:
• To develop action from the grassroots to the national level, with stakeholders taking action by advancing rights related to SRHR and influencing related policies.
• To increase public awareness and support for progressive SRHR policies through culturally resonant African narratives
• To demonstrate pathways for scaling innovative solutions aimed at addressing inequities in access to contraception and abortion care.
• To facilitate the meaningful inclusion of safe abortion content and commitments into the agendas of diverse civil society groups, leading to expanded legal or decriminalized access to safe abortion in East Africa.

Ipas Africa Alliance therefore invite Request for Applications from local and grassroots organizations to address key thematic areas for grants including.
 Teenage Pregnancies
